[FCE] Faculty of Civil Engineering participated in the 33rd National Mechanics Olympiad

With the consent of LHU, Faculty of Civil Engineering sent 04 students to participate in the 33rd National Mechanics Olympiad in the South on May 7, 2023 at Vinh Long University of Technology and Education. 

Participating this time, 04 students of FCE took part in the Strength of Materials exam including: Nguyen Thai An from class 20XD111, Nguyen Huu An, Hoang Van Em and Trinh Duy Minh from class 21XD111.

On the morning of May 7, at Vinh Long University of Technical Education, the Vietnam Mechanics Association in collaboration with the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations and the Vietnam Student Association held the opening ceremony of the 33rd National Mechanics Olympiad - Southern Region.

Candidates must pass 7 traditional exams in the form of essays (Engineering Mechanics, Structural Mechanics, Strength of Materials, Hydraulics, Soil Mechanics, Machine Details, Machine Principles) and 5 application of informatics in mechanics exams (Engineering Mechanics, Machine Parts, Machine Principles, Material Strength, Structural Mechanics).

The National Mechanics Olympiad has been held annually since 1989, creating an exciting environment and promoting the movement of students to study and research mechanical subjects at universities and institutes. The contest is an intellectual scientific playground for students, which gives students the opportunity to interact and test their knowledge and ability and provides lecturers with a sharing and exchangeable environment in order to change academic and scientific research. At the same time, through the contest, young talents will be discovered and fostered to quickly apply science to practice and promote industrialization and modernization of the country. 

In 2023, the Faculty of Civil Engineering enrolls students in Construction Engineering Technology with these programs:

1. Engineer in Construction Engineering Technology with 02 minor majors: Civil & Industrial Construction and Bridge & Road Construction.

- Major code: 7.51.01.02

- Duration: 4 years.

2. Post-graduate (Master) in Civil Engineering

- Major code: 85.80.201.

- Duration: 1.5 years.

3. Degree 2 - University Transfer (Evening) in Construction Engineering Technology with 02 minor majors: Civil & Industrial Construction and Bridge & Road Construction.

- Major code: 7.51.01.02

- Duration: 18 months
