Japanese Studies student wins Consolation prize at 2026 Open Japanese Speech Contest

On August 2, 2026, Truong Quyen Linh (class 25DN111), a student of the Japanese Studies Program under the Faculty of Oriental Studies at LHU, won the Consolation prize at the 6th Open Japanese Speech Contest 2026, themed "The power of words", hosted by Van Hien University. The competition served as an academic platform for students passionate about the Japanese language to exchange ideas, learn from one another, and enhance their language proficiency, critical thinking, and public speaking skills.

This year's competition received 31 entries from various Japanese language education institutions. Following a rigorous selection process, the Organizing Committee selected eight outstanding contestants to advance to the final round. Each speech offered a unique perspective, showcasing the contestants' fluency in Japanese, logical reasoning, and ability to convey meaningful messages related to the competition's theme.
